My Canon 85mm 1.2 review, is going to focus on what I think is the lens’ most impressive feature. This is the out of focus background blur. The lens combines an 8 blade circular aperture diaphragm with an f/1.2 aperture, to give truly outstanding results in portrait and still life shots. It allows you to focus on an object in the foreground, without the distractions of anything going on in the background. It does this by blurring the background, so that you get a mix of shapes and colours. The lens gets the balance between detail and distortion just right; not so much that it is just a mass of colours, but not so little that it detracts from the main focus of the image. The contrast between the fore and background is also exceptional, due to the sharpness of the image; every colour stands out, and every line is defined.

Joseph Kutchinsky, the biggest innovator of the Kutchinsky jewelry brand, is a Londoner of Polish decent. His grandfather came to England at the end of the 19th century and opened his first jewelry manufacturing company. Joseph Kutchinsky, or a “Jo” as he was frequently referred to, was born in 1914 and began working for the family business at the tender age of 14. He married in 1940, started a family, and served his country in WWII. In 1950, once the war ended, Jo began rebuilding the family business by setting up shop in London. He is well known for his early mastery of platinum in fine jewelry and became a popular fixture in Knightsbridge due to both his jeweler’s skill and charismatic charm.
